Hot off the press: a new paper on EFUA’s Urban Agricultural Typology:

A new paper has just been published on EFUA’s Typology of Urban Agriculture. The paper entitled “Beyond urban farm and community garden, a new typology of urban and peri-urban agriculture in Europe” is authored by Jan Eelco Jansma, Esther J. Veen, and Daniela Müller from Wageningen University and Research and Aeres University of Applied Sciences in Almere. Key points outlined in the paper are:

  • A new typology of (peri-) urban agriculture in Europe is proposed.
  • The new typology consists of six different types of (peri-) urban agriculture.
  • The typology is a valuable tool for policy and practice to understand, govern, and promote urban agriculture.
  • Although typologies are valuable, the day-to-day practice of urban agriculture remains fluid and multifaceted.
